Drag a piece from the tray onto the 8×8 board — or tap a piece to select it, then tap a spot. Fill a complete row or column to clear it.
This is what makes Gridsmith different: spend Forge Charge to reshape a tray piece before you place it. Tap Forge to arm it, then tap a piece to open its craft options.
Charge builds as you clear lines. Cost is only spent when you place the forged piece — edits are free to try and undo while it sits in the tray.
Forging heats the anvil (the Heat bar). Clearing lines cools it down. If Heat maxes out you Overheat — the Forge locks for a few placements, so pace your crafting with your clears.
Forged blocks keep a gold metallic rim on the board. They don’t score extra just for sitting there — the bonus comes from using them well:
While you drag a forged piece, a gold tag shows the bonus you’d earn at that spot.
